       Eligibility

  1. Entrants must be financial members of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) at the time of entry until the completion of the awards program.
  2. A small business is defined as having a turnover of less than $10 million per year.

       Nominations and How to Enter 

  1. All entries must be submitted on the HIA website www.hia.com.au using the online form.
  2. All sections of the online form must be completed and submitted together with a high resolution digital photograph of the entrant, by the closing date.
  3. Late entries will not be accepted.
  4. Entrants may be contacted by HIA and asked to provide additional documentation in support of their entry. Such documentation may include company references and/or testimonials.
  5. HIA and its associated media accept no responsibility for any incorrect or misleading details or other information provided in the entry form.
  6. HIA accepts no responsibility for lost or late entries.
  7. HIA reserves the right to declare any entry ineligible, if at any time during or after the term of the award process the entry form is found to be incomplete, deficient, false, or misleading in any way.

Privacy & Personal Information 

  1. HIA may collect personal information (as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)) and other information relating to the entrant and the business in order to judge and administer the Awards. All entries become HIA’s property.
  2. The person nominating or entering into this award agrees to HIA reproducing any images and/or details provided in or with the entry form for the purposes of promoting the Small Business Management Award (and that the permission and approval of the guardian of any child in the images has been granted), such promotion being at the sole discretion of HIA and its associated media.
  3. By participating in the Awards (including by submitting an entry), the entrant consents for HIA to use and disclose any personal information
    (a) for the purposes set out in HIA’s Privacy Statement available at hia.com.au/privacy; and
    (b) to HIA’s related entities, business partners, agencies, sponsors and other third parties engaged to provide services in connection with the Awards, in order to
    i. market to the entrant, including by email, SMS/ MMS, mail, social media and telephone; and
    ii. judge and administer the Awards.
  4. The entrant agrees that such consent continues unless otherwise withdrawn. To withdraw consent to receive marketing material from HIA or a third party or request that personal information not be disclosed to a third party, the entrant may:

  5. HIA’s Privacy Policy may be replaced or varied at the discretion of HIA from time to time, effective immediately upon posting such changes to HIA’s website.

Judging

  1. HIA will appoint a judging panel to assess the information provided in the entries for the HIA Small Business Management Award.
  2. The judges are bound by strict judging criteria and are required to declare any interest in entries over which they deliberate and to stand aside from deliberations concerning those entries.
  3. The judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  4. Judges reserve the right to decline to present an Award if a minimum standard of excellence has not been met.
